Ball State field hockey’s Carley Shannon started her senior campaign with a bang this weekend as the Williamsburg, Virginia native totaled two goals, one assist and five points in wins over Saint Louis and Ohio. Shannon was the first Cardinal to connect with the back of the cage Friday against Saint Louis, scoring her first goal of the season in the game’s 18th minute. The last time the Billikens and Cardinals met was in 2014, which happened to be the contest where Shannon scored her first career goal.
Shannon put the Cardinals on the board first once again by connecting on a penalty corner against the Bobcats Sunday also in the 18th minute. The senior exercise science major also excels off the field. Shannon boasts a 3.990 cumulative grade-point average and earned a 4.0 last spring.
