For her solid play in leading the Ball State women’s basketball team to a pair of road wins last week, Tessa Towers has been named the Pridemark Construction Student-Athlete of the Week.
Towers delivered a dominant week for the Cardinals, averaging 22 points and nine rebounds per game, capped by a career-defining performance on national television. In a critical road swing, Towers anchored a Cardinals squad which improved to 17-5 overall and 9-1 in Mid-American Conference play.
Her biggest highlights came last Sunday at Kent State when she exploded for a career-best 29 points and added 11 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season to guide BSU to a 101-91 victory. Towers was also instrumental in last Wednesday’s 76-70 win at Central Michigan, adding 15 points and pulling down seven boards.
