For his solid relief effort versus Eastern Michigan, Ball State baseball senior right-handed pitcher Owen Quinn has been named the Pridemark Construction Student-Athlete of the Week.
Quinn came out of the bullpen with two runners on base and two outs in the fourth inning and stranded them before finishing the game for the Cardinals in a 9-4 win against the Eagles on Saturday. The senior struck out three in 5.1 innings of one-run ball to earn the win a few days after pitching a scoreless frame with a strikeout at No. 25 Kentucky on Tuesday night. Quinn improved his season ERA to 1.89 in 19 innings pitched with the strong week.
