Rogers Named MIVA Offensive Player of the Week

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Following an impressive opening weekend for the No. 5-ranked Ball State men's volleyball team, Patrick Rogers was named the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday morning (Jan. 7). Â
Rogers led the Cardinals in their sweeps against Wabash College and Trine University. He totaled 15 kills, averaging three kills per set with a hitting clip of .321. Over the weekend, Rogers also recorded five aces and three blocks.Â
The junior outside hitter was a big asset in Ball State's homer opener against Wabash College, where he had five kills, two aces and a block, hitting for .444. He continued to impress in Sunday's match against the Thunder, leading the Cardinals with 10 kills, three aces, and two blocks.Â
Rogers and the rest of the Ball State men's volleyball team will prepare for their first road series against Stanford on Friday (Jan. 10) and Saturday (Jan. 11). Matches are scheduled to start at 9 p.m. ET. Â
