
Men’s Tennis Earns 4-3 Road Victory at Illinois State

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Ball State men's tennis team (1-2) earned a 4-3 road victory over Illinois State (2-2) Saturday evening at the Evergreen Racquet Club.
On the doubles side, the Cardinals and the Redbirds were knotted 1-1 before BSU's No. 2 doubles tandem of Ian Brady and Drew Hayward clinched the point after picking up a 7-6 (9-7) tiebreak defeat against Illinois State's Tin Astro and Christian Capacci.
In singles play, Jacks Lancaster won at the No. 2 slot in consecutive sets over Adrian Dibildox, 6-2, 6-1 as did his teammate Hayward who also took down his respective opponent on court No. 5 by a 6-4, 6-4 decision.
With the Cardinals needing one more point for the win, Smith came through at the No. 3 singles position, posting a 6-3, 6-4 decision versus Tin Astro.
The Ball State men's tennis team will host Dayton Saturday, Feb. 1 for its home opener at 4 pm ET at the Northwest YMCA Tennis Center.
