
Milette Crowned the Flight E MAC Indoor Singles Champion

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Ball State men's tennis team competed in the Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships this past weekend which saw true freshman Jeremy Milette earn the singles title of the Flight E draw.
Milette, opened play with a 4-6, 6-4, 10-3, take down of Illinois Chicago's Henrique Sa. Milette would then advance to the finals after defeating host Western Michigan's Dimitri Moriarty, 3-6, 7-5, 10-7.
In the championship match, Milette faced the Broncos' Drew Evans. Milette would take the first frame 6-1 from Evans before dropping the second set 4-6. Milette fought back to take the two-set tiebreaker by a score of 10-4 to claim the victory.
Both Andrei Caragea and Anthony Shalakov also advanced to the semifinal rounds of their respective flights.
The brotherly duo of Nolan and Andrew Hayward highlighted doubles play for the Cardinals after beating UIC's Artem Alekseychuk and Eldin Nokic by an 8-5 decision in the A Draw.
Ball State also found success in some of the consolation matches which saw Caragea earn two victories to end the weekend with three singles wins.
The Cardinals will wrap up fall action when it hosts the Ball State Invite which begins Nov. 7 through Nov. 9 at the Ball State Indoor Tennis Facility.
