Men's Swimming & Diving Opens Busy Weekend Friday at Miami

MUNCIE, Ind. - - The Ball State men's swimming & diving program opens the championship portion of its 2023-24 schedule Friday, when it travels to Miami for a 1 p.m. Mid-American Conference showdown at the Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center.

The Cardinals then close the weekend Sunday at Fishers High School when it takes part in the Butler Invite starting at Noon.

Ball State enters the weekend with a 2-0 dual record and has not competed as a squad since the House of Champions Invite held Nov. 16-18. The Cardinals finished the three-day event with 1,108 points, five event wins and one program record.

Last season, Ball State suffered a 168-132 setback to the RedHawks at the Lewellen Aquatic Center on Jan. 21 and placed third of six teams at the Butler Invite on Jan. 29.

IN THE MAC RANKINGS:
In the latest NCAA Division I Top Time Rankings as compiled by CollegeSwimming.com, the Cardinals have 17 student-athletes ranked in scoring position in their respective events heading into Friday's dual at Miami.

Senior breaststroke specialist Joey Garberick is BSU's top-ranked student-athlete, holding the top spot in both the 100 (52.69) and 200 (1:58.67) events.
