Garberick Claims Another MAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week Honor

CLEVELAND - - For the second time this season, and the sixth time in his career, Ball State senior breaststroke specialist Joey Garberick has been named the Mid-American Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week.
In helping guide the Cardinals to a second-place finish at the House of Champions last week, Garberick turned in the two fastest breaststroke times in the MAC so far this season. He started with a first-place time of 52.86 in the 100 breaststroke Friday, then followed with a second-place effort of 1:58.94 in the 200 breaststroke Saturday.
Over the course of the three-day meet, Garberick also placed 14th in the 50 freestyle (20.91) and paced all swimmers in an exhibition of the 50 breaststroke (24.24). In addition, he was a member of the first-place 400 freestyle relay (2.58.95) and second-place 200 freestyle (1:20.36), 200 medley (1:28.01) and 400 medley (3:15.17) relays.
