Ball State set for 4k run to open 2022 campaign
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State cross country team is set begin its season Friday, Sept. 2 at the Vic Godfrey Open. The 4k race, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside at Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course, is slated to begin at 6 p.m. ET.
"I'm excited to see our young ladies open up the season this weekend," head coach Adrian Wheatley said. "They took advantage of their summer training and came into pre-season prepared. They have put together several solid weeks of training.
"This meet will help establish an early season benchmark and I'm excited to see them compete."
The Cardinals welcome back 10 returnees from a year ago, including four seniors in Grace Dean, Sarah Greer, Juliana Stogsdill and Vivian Van Eck and added five newcomers to its 2022 roster.
Following its opening run of the season, Ball State will travel to East Lansing, Mich. for the Spartan Invite, Sept. 16.
