Cardinals finish fourth at the Vic Godfrey Open
KENOSHA, Wis. – The Ball State cross country team completed its first run of the 2022 season at the Vic Godfrey Open Friday night. The Cardinals had its top-four finishers – all of which finished inside the top 20 – within 35 seconds of each other.
Ball State placed fourth with 85 points in the 4k race.
"Today was an excellent opportunity to work on pack running, which is key to a successful team cross-country performance," head coach Adrian Wheatley said. "I know this has been an emphasis in their preparation, and as the season progresses, this pack will continue to tighten up."

In her first 4k race as a Cardinal, Mahnensmith lost her shoe during the middle of the run and still managed to climb to a top-10 finish.
