Men’s Tennis Dominates IUPUI With 6-1 Win

PENDLETON, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team (5-3) continued its six-match road stretch with a 6-1 win against IUPUI (3-8) Sunday afternoon at the Community Sports Wellness Center in Pendleton, Ind.
In rather convincing fashion the Cardinals took the doubles point from the Jaguars earning 6-4 victories on courts one and two.
First off the court was Danilo Kovacevic and Chris Adams. The No. 1 duo defeated IUPUI's Alex Jochim and Emil Jankowski.
After that, Thibault de Negril alongside teammate Eli Herran put the Cardinals ahead 1-0 with their win at slot No. 2 over Blessing Benibo and Colton Morehart.
In singles action, de Negri put BSU ahead of IUPUI fairly quickly with a straight set take down versus Morehart on court No. 2. Nathaniel Webster wasn't too far behind on the next court over, defeating IUPUI's No. 3 singles player Sean Bailey, 6-1, 6-2.
Today's match would be clinched by Vince Orlando on court No. 5. Orlando took the first set 6-4 over Nate Day and then went on to win the second frame 7-6 to earn the fourth point for Ball State.
Other winners were Herran and Petar Petrovic on courts four and six, respectively.
The Ball State men's tennis team will wrap up seven-straight matches on the road when it travels to Illinois State Wednesday. First serve is at 1 pm ET.
