Cardinals will compete in final event before MAC Championships
LIVE SCORING
The Ball State women's golf team enters its final tune-up for the Mid-American Conference Championships with wins in its past two events.
The Cardinals head to Bloomington, Indiana, for this weekend's IU Invitational, where they will compete against four teams they'll see at the conference tournament -- Akron, Eastern Michigan, Toledo and Western Michigan.
The nine-team field at the Indiana University Golf Course also includes the host Hoosiers, Illinois State, IUPUI and Xavier.
The 54-hole event features two rounds Saturday and the final round Sunday. The action begins with a 9 a.m. shotgun start both days, and live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
Not only has Ball State won its past two tournaments -- the Kingsmill Intercollegiate and the EKU Colonel Classic -- but the Cardinals have also featured the individual medalist at both events.
Senior Allison Lindley recorded her first collegiate victory at Kingsmill, and sophomore Sydney Anderson followed at EKU by doing the same. Lindley finished in the top 10 at both events and owns a 73.83 scoring average over those six rounds.
But it has been an incredibly balanced effort this spring, highlighted by the Cardinals placing four golfers in the top 10 in last week's runaway victory at the Colonel Classic. The lineup this weekend again features last week's two winners plus Kelsey Sear, Manon Tounalom and Morgan Nadaline.
The IU Invitational will conclude a busy stretch that has seen the Cardinals compete four times since March 14. BSU will then catch a breather before the MAC Championships, set for April 21-23 at Silver Lake Country Club in northeast Ohio.
