For her part in helping guide the Ball State women’s tennis team to its 10th straight victory, sophomore Jessica Braun has been named the Pridemark Construction Student-Athlete of the Week.
Braun helped the Cardinals improve to 10-2 on the year and open MAC play with a 6-1 win at Eastern Michigan by earning a hard-fought win at No. 2 singles and helping claim a victory at No. 1 doubles.
She started the day by combining with freshman Silvia Martinez for a 6-4 victory in the top doubles spot. The effort helped the Cardinals secure the doubles point.
She followed with a thrilling 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 win over EMU’s Luisa Pelayo at No. 2 singles to help Ball State earn the match victory.
With the win, Braun improves to 8-1 in singles action this season, with eight straight victories.
