After a solid week at the plate for the Ball State softball team, redshirt junior catcher McKayla Timmons has been named the Pridemark Construction Student-Athlete of the Week.
Timmons led the Ball State offense with a .600 batting average, a .778 on base percentage and a 1.600 slugging percentage over five games last week. In fact, she recorded a least one hit in all five games, including two solo home runs in Tuesday’s opener at No. 24 Miami and a two-run blast Saturday’s 5-0 victory over Akron.
Overall, she reached base safely in 14 of her 18 plate appearances, including six hits, six walks and being hit by a pitch twice. She also led the Cardinals with six runs scored and was second on the squad with five RBIs.
