
Women's S&D Places 17 On Academic All-MAC Team

CLEVELAND - - The Ball State women's swimming & diving program placed 17 student-athletes on the 2022-23 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team as announced by the league office.

Of Ball State's 17 honorees, five finished their Ball State careers as three-time award winners:Â Shelby Crist, Jessie Fraley, Jenn Gillen, Phoebe Rensink, and Apsara Sakbun.

The five Cardinals picking up the award for the second time in their careers are Elizabeth King, Sophia Kuehn, Mary Kate Phillips, Marcella Ribeiro, and Laura Wright.
Ball State also had seven first-time honorees: Neely Agnew, Alexa Arkenberg, Eliza Bader, Emma Horton, Hannah Jones, Lilia Newkirk, and Ashleigh Provan.

A total of 133 student-athletes earned the Academic All-MAC distinction in women's swimming & diving by maintaining at least a 3.2 GPA and participating in at least half of the team's contests for the season. First-year students and any college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
