2021-22: Named to the Academic All-MAC Team… member of the 800 freestyle relay (7:23.86) that finished eighth overall at the MAC Championship meet and broke the program record…finished 19th overall in the 1650 freestyle (17:28.49) at the MAC Championships…also swam in the 500 freestyle (5:11.67)…also swam in the 200 freestyle (1:63.61)…captured the win in the 1000 freestyle (10:42.05) versus Eastern Illinois and again versus Bellarmine (10:42.71)…also won the 500 freestyle (5:15.61) against Bellarmine.
2020-21: Placed 22nd overall at the MAC Championships in the 1650 freestyle (17:40.99)…member of the 800 freestyle relay (7:31.15) that placed 7th overall at the MAC Championship that now ranks seventh in program history…placed first in the 1000 freestyle (10:48.01) versus Eastern Illinois.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended St. Charles North High School and swam under Robert Rooney … earned four varsity letters and was team captain as a junior and a senior … four-time IHSA State Qualifier … all-conference honors all four seasons … placed 3rd in 200 free (1:53.86) and 5th in 500 free (5:07.99) at IHSA Sectional Meet her senior season … led the North Stars to be Sectional champs all four years.
CLUB: Swam for St. Charles Swim Team for 10 years under coach Tim Lewarchick.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Erin and Aaron Philips … has one brother and one sister … father played football at Winona State … studying exercise science at Ball State.
WHY BALL STATE: I chose Ball State because the campus felt at home. After my first talk with Coach J, I felt the dedication and work he has put into the swimming and diving program. I love the close-knit atmosphere and drive of the team, in and out of the pool.
