Leading the charge is the three-time defending MAC 100 breaststroke champion, senior Joey Garberick. Overall, Garberick's name can be found in the Ball State men's swimming & diving record book a total of 20 times.
He will be joined by a quartet of fifth-year seniors who extended their careers one more season, with the help of their COVID year of eligibility, to take care of a little unfinished business. The group includes Owen Chaye, Bryce Handshoe, Noah Berryman and Wyatt Blake.
Chaye holds the individual program records in the 50 freestyle (19.89) and 100 freestyle (43.58), in addition to all five relay events. His name is currently in the BSU record book 19 times.

Berryman has been solid in the breaststroke for the Cardinals over his career and earned MAC Swimmer of the Week last season after sweeping the breaststroke events versus Valparaiso. He was also Ball State's male MAC Medal of Excellence award winner for the 2022-23 academic year.
Blake has been a rock on the diving board for the Cardinals, holding the program record on the 3M board (359.25) and the program's second-best score on the 1M board (337.45).
Those are not the only record holders returning for the Ball State men's squad, however, as senior Zach Zishka and sophomore Jacob Siewers will also be back in the pool.
Zishka holds the program record in the 400 IM (3:57.18) and is also third all-time in the 1000 freestyle (9:36.34) and 1650 freestyle (15:53.73).
Siewers holds the program record in the 200 freestyle (1:38.80) and is a member of all three current freestyle relay records.
Another key returner joining Blake on the diving board is freshman Porter Brovont who earned 2022-23 MAC Freshman Diver of the Year honors and Second Team All-MAC after placing second on both the 1M and 3M boards at last season's MAC Championships.
Saturday's meet will mark the first of two straight Saturdays in action for the Cardinals, who will be joined by the women for their season-opener Oct. 21 at the Indiana Intercollegiates.
