Men's Swimming Sets Program Record on Day Two of CSCAA NIC

OCALA, Fla. – The Ball State men's and women's swim teams continued competition at the FAST (Florida Aquatics Swimming & Training) Facility, making four finals appearances and earning a program record on day two of the 2026 CSCAA National Invitational Championships.
The 800 freestyle relay team of Malcolm Slater, George Patterson, Henry Ko and William Raches closed the evening with a finishing time of 6:32.80, placing fourth and setting a brand-new program standard.
Earlier in the finals, Patterson took ninth place in the 200 freestyle, touching the wall at 1:37.98.
Aidan Biddle was the second from the men's side to advance to the finals, placing seventh in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 53.42.
At the opening of the evening, the 200 medley relay team of Raches, Biddle, AJ Friend and Patterson banded together to finish ninth with a time of 1:27.89.
On the women's side, Anna Keen and Addie Beasley both made finals appearances, with Keen finishing 11th in the 100 butterfly (53.36) and Beasley placing 15th in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.04).
The women's team began the finals with a fourth-place finish in the 200 medley relay, as Ava Butterfield, Beasley, Reagan Graves and Keen combined for a time of 1:40.37.
The Cardinals continue action Saturday for the final day of the CSCAA National Invitational Championships, with prelims starting at 9:30 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m.
