Swimming Sends Five to Finals on Day One of 2026 CSCAA NIC

OCALA, Fla. – Ball State opened the 2026 CSCAA National Invitational Championships with two medals Thursday evening at the FAST (Florida Aquatics Swimming & Training) Facility.
Junior Aidan Biddle stamped a third-place finish in the 50 breaststroke (24.26), shaving .46 off his prelim time of 24.26, to capture bronze in the event. Biddle also joined the 400 medley relay team of William Raches, AJ Friend and George Patterson to combine for an eighth-place time of 3:13.92 – the third-fastest time in program history.
Friend and Patterson both made it to the finals action on day one, with Friend placing seventh in the 50 butterfly (21.45) and Patterson taking seventh in the 200 individual medley (1:48.54).
On the women's side, sophomore Anna Keen turned in a bronze-winning finish in the 50 butterfly, claiming third with a time of 23.84. Keen also aided the 200 freestyle relay team of Ava Butterfield, Addie Beasley and Addy Czarnecki which claimed 20th (1:33.86).
Freshman Addie Beasley made a finals appearance in her first trip to the NIC, advancing to the consolation heat of the 50 breaststroke and placing 10th with a time of 28.72.
The Cardinals continue competition Friday at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships, with prelims beginning at 9:30 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m.
