Men’s Swim & Dive Wins Three Events at Butler Invite

MUNCIE, Ind. - - The Ball State men's swimming & diving team finished their weekend Sunday afternoon at the Butler Invite. The Cardinals (2-3) came away with three victories and placed third among six teams at the Natatorium Aquatic Center.
Senior Owen Chaye had the only swimming victory for the Cardinals, finishing first in the 100 freestyle (45.67).
Junior Joey Garberick had a solid day, placing third in both the 100 (55.60) and 200 (2:04.46) breaststroke events. Garberick also took part in the third-place 400 medley relay (3:23.23) with sophomore Ethan Pheifer, and seniors Bryce Handshoe and Chaye.
Senior Wyatt Blake had a great day in the diving well placing first on both the 1M (286.50) and 3M (305.60) boards.
Ball State finished their day with a second-place effort in the 200 freestyle relay (1:22.37). Garberick led the way for the Cardinals and was joined by seniors Jack Wolfred, Chaye, and freshman Jacob Siewers.
The Ball State men's swimming & diving program will be back in action Friday (Feb. 3) at 6 p.m. ET (5 p.m. CT) when it travels to the Valparaiso Aquatic Center for a dual meet.
