January 20, 2023 | Women's Tennis
MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team under the direction of 10th-year head coach Max Norris will open its 2023 spring action Saturday afternoon at home when the Cardinals host IUPUI for a 1:30 p.m. ET first serve.
Ball State welcomes back nine veterans to its 2023 squad — junior Isabelle Behrman, senior Jessica Braun, senior Emily Desai, sophomore Ella Hazelbaker, senior Amy Kaplan, graduate student Livia Lukacs, sophomore Elena Malykh, senior Emma Peeler and junior Mariya Polishchuk.
The Cardinals also welcome newcomers — graduate student Allison Mulville along with freshmen Jacqueline Pearsall, and Annika Planinsek.
Norris' the program's most successful coach helped the Cardinals earn their fourth Mid-American Conference regular season championship last year along with their second MAC Tournament title and third trip to the NCAA Championships.
In fact, Norris has guided the program to all four of its MAC regular season championships (2016, 2017, 2021 and 2022) and to both MAC Tournament championships (2016 and 2022).
This season, Ball State looks forward to another successful season. After Saturday's match, the Cardinals will head to Big Ten foe Purdue Sunday for a 12 pm ET first serve in West Lafayette.
