Former Ball State Coach Sue Parks Inducted into USTFCCCA Hall of Fame

NEW ORLEANS— The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced today that former Ball State Head Coach Sue Parks will be inducted into their hall of fame.
Parks spent 12 years (1994-2006) leading the Women's Track & Field and Cross Country programs here in Muncie, overseeing one of the most illustrious spells in school history. Under her leadership, the Cardinals won eight Mid-American Conference team titles and finished second another 10 times in both cross country and track & field. Parks was named MAC Coach of the Year on five separate occasions as well as an NCAA Regional Coach of the Year for indoor and outdoor track in 1998. She also oversaw only the third MAC team to ever qualify for the NCAA National Championships in cross country in 2002.
Some of the notable athletes that ran under the coaching of Parks at Ball State include hall of fame members Tameka Borders, Amber Williams, Jill Scully and Linise Gordon as well as 1999 National Champion in the 200-meter dash LaTasha Jenkins.
Parks is a two-time graduate of fellow MAC institution Eastern Michigan where she has coached for 20 years.
