Men’s Volleyball Signs Homegrown Setter Aaron Hernandez
November 13, 2020 | Men's Volleyball
MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State men's volleyball 23rd year head coach Joel Walton announced the signing of Aaron Hernandez (Fishers, Ind./Fishers High School/The Academy Volleyball Club) to a national letter of intent during the early signing period, which opened Nov. 11.
"I am excited to add Aaron to the Ball State men's volleyball family," Walton said. "Aaron is a gifted setter with high level experience which is hard to come by in players from Indiana. Aaron has done a good job of leading teams from Indiana to high finishes in national tournaments and we expect his competitiveness to be a nice addition to our team."
The 6-4 setter will be close to his hometown next year, as Hernandez grew up approximately 45 miles south from Worthen Arena.
Hernandez has played in a total of 75 sets for the Fishers Tigers. He has averaged 5.9 sets per game, has collected 446 assists, 29 aces, 136 digs and 36 kills over his high school career. Hernandez helped Fishers High School to a Regional Championship in 2018.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, Fishers High School did not compete Hernandez's junior season.
Hernandez is also a member of the elite Sports Academy Volleyball Club located in Indianapolis.
