Setting the Stage
Last week, the Cardinals defeated 10 NCAA Regional teams from a year ago on the way to a season-opening victory in Cedar Rapids. This week, they will get a shot at seven more of them in Dallas.
Ball State rolled to a 15-shot win at the Golfweek Conference Challenge and a top-20 national ranking for the first time. MAC Golfer of the Week Joey Ranieri recorded only one bogey in 54 holes, made a run at medalist honors and settled for runner-up in his best collegiate tournament so far.
Ranieri is the only BSU player who will be making his Trinity Forest debut this week. Ball State is making its second straight appearance at the tournament. The Cardinals placed 11th a year ago behind a top-25 finish from Keegan Bronnenberg.
Trinity Forest opened in 2016 and now serves as the site of the PGA's Tour's AT&T Byron Nelson Invitational each summer. It is the first of three straight signature courses Ball State will play in the next several weeks. The Cardinals will also visit 2017 U.S. Open host Erin Hills in Wisconsin and FedEx Cup Playoffs rotation stop Crooked Stick outside Indianapolis.

Get the low down from @KostourosY on his putter change, why he prefers the 3 iron and why he digs his driver.
