Opening Pitch:Â Ball State will look to break its MAC trend this weekend. Since opening conference play by winning two of three at league leader Kent State, the Cardinals have gone 1-2 in each of the last three series against Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Miami.

Ball State is still hoping its bats will heat up. The Cardinals hit a league high .313 against MAC competition in 2017. This year, Ball State ranks ninth with a .235 batting average.

Ball State's pitching has struck out 111 league batters, which is right behind MAC leader Kent State (119). Meanwhile, Bowling Green batters have struck out a league-low 71 times in conference games.

Series History: This will be Ball State's first visit to Bowling Green since 2015. The last two meetings have taken place in Muncie. Ball State swept the three-game series in 2017, averaging 14.3 runs per game.Â
