November 28, 2018 | Field Hockey
CLEVELAND - The Ball State field hockey team placed 10 members on the 2018 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team, which was announced by the league office today.
Senior Anya Eicher and redshirt junior Michelle Shampton were named for the third straight year. Senior Beth Barnes, redshirt-junior Hannah Bohn, redshirt-sophomore Sierra Jefferson, junior Haley Jolly and sophomore Rachel Pereira have earned the honor two straight seasons.
Sophomores Abby Ferenczy, Jenna McKune and Allison Parker were all first-time honorees.
Both Eicher and Pereira earned postseason All-MAC honors this year. Eicher picked up All-MAC First Team accolades, while Pereira represented the Cardinals on the All-MAC Second Team.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for student-athletes who have excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
