Men’s Swim and Dive Opens 2017-18 Regular Season At Home

MUNCIE, Ind.– The Ball State men's swimming and diving team will kick of the regular season with a co-ed meet at Lewellen Aquatics Center against Tiffin on Saturday, Nov. 11. The meet is set to begin at 1 p.m.
This year's squad welcomes back a plethora of upperclassmen including senior captains Banistre Lienhart, Zach Toman and Isaac Walling. Juniors returning include Gabe Dean, Alex Nickoli, Luke Nondorf, Zach Reichle, and Cullen Tyler. The sophomore class will look to continue the success they had last season. The sophomore class returns Logan Ackley, Ben Andrew, Cobie Fritsch, Chase Jackson, Jack Luddy and Adam Pongracz. There is excitement surrounding the newcomers, which includes Spencer Ball, Krent Hueni, Ryan Jackowiak, Arnas Maciunas, Trey Matheis, Davis Meyn, Jason Taylor, Drew Weeks and Sean Wolfe.
Last season, the Cardinals took down Tiffin with a final score of 162.5-74.5. Isaac Walling earned a first and second place finish in that contest. Walling placed first in the 500 freestyle (4:56.57) and second in the 1000 freestyle (10:12.53). Chase Jackson also marked a first and second place finish against Tiffin, in the 100 backstroke (53.46) and 200 backstroke (1:59.29). Jackson joined Luke Nondorf and two graduated Cardinals to earn a first place finish in the 200 medley relay.
Other top finishers in that meet were Nondorf in the 200 breaststroke (2:15.78), Ben Andrew in the 400 IM (4:26.56), and Cullen Tyler in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.55).
