MUNCIE, Ind. -- Former Wright State standout and Noblesville, Ind., native Jason Balach has joined the Ball State soccer staff as an assistant coach. He will coach the Cardinals' goalkeepers.
“I am very pleased to welcome Jason to our Ball State family,” Cardinals head coach Craig Roberts said. “His ability to provide sound technical and tactical instruction will serve our program well. In addition, I believe his balanced demeanor and work ethic will contribute to our future success. We are happy to have him aboard.”
Balach most recently served as an assistant coach for the men's soccer program at IUPUI in 2014, working specifically with the Jaguars' goalkeepers.
His experience extends to the club ranks, where he has coached with Noblesville United and the Indianapolis Premier Soccer Club. He remains on staff with the Fishers-based Indy Premier Soccer Club and is active with Indiana's Olympic Development Program.
Balach was a four-year starter as a goalkeeper at Wright State University from 2002-05. He finished his career fourth in Wright State history in minutes played (5,156), saves (256) and shutouts (14).
Balach graduated with a degree in business management. He went on to work for Austin Peay State University as a student-athlete academic advisor and for the National Center for Drug Free Sport in Kansas City, Mo. His coaching career began in 2009 with the Indianapolis Premier Soccer Club.
