Baseball Defeated 3-0 at MAC East Leader Kent State

Ball State's baseball team fell 3-0 at Mid-American Conference East Division leader Kent State Friday night.
With the loss, the Cardinals fell to 21-11 overall and 7-3 in MAC action, while the Golden Flashes improved to 18-11 overall and 7-3 in league play.
The two teams will meet in the second game of the three-game weekend series Saturday at 4 p.m. with the finale scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Cardinals were limited to four hits in the contest with Alex Call leading the way with a 2-for-4 performance. Elbert Devarie and Matt Eppers managed the other hits for Ball State. Call managed the only extra base hit for the Cardinals with his sixth double of the year.
Kent State's pitching staff struck out nine Cardinals, while walking three.
Zach Plesac pitched a complete game for Ball State and allowed three runs on nine hits, while striking out two.
The Golden Flashes scored all the game's runs in the third inning, while Ball State left nine runners on base in the contest.
