Eleven Baseball Cardinals Land on Academic All-MAC Team

Eleven Ball State baseball student-athletes were named Academic All-MAC by the Mid-American Conference, the league office announced Tuesday.
Gavin Balius, Alex Burden, John Chambers, John Colligan, Brendan Garza, Brett Griffiths, Brayden Huebner, Keegan Johnson, Max Kalk, Zach Kwasny, and Owen Quinn received the honor. In order to be eligible for consideration, student-athletes must hold at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and be in at least their second academic year at the institution.
Chambers, Griffiths, Kalk, Kwasny and Quinn were also on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team announced on June 2.
Johnson, Kalk, and Kwasny got on the 2025 Academic All-MAC Team, while Quinn has now earned the honor in three straight years.
"Proud of our guys for their hard work in the classroom and on the playing field," Ball State head coach Rich Maloney said. "Education lasts a lifetime and the success a student-athlete has in the classroom increases their chance for success in their future occupation."
