John Chambers, Brett Griffiths, Max Kalk, Zach Kwasny and Owen Quinn have been named Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators, the CSC announced Tuesday.
To be eligible for the recognition, student-athletes need to be at least a sophomore academically and athletically with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and participate in at least 90 percent or start in at least 66 percent of the team's contests or pitch in at least 17 games or 35 innings for pitchers.
Chambers recently graduated with a degree in premedical preparation and led the Cardinals with six wins while ranking second on the team in innings pitched (71.1) and strikeouts (69) as a senior.
Griffiths got his general studies degree in May and was a Second Team All-MAC selection at shortstop as he finished the season with a team high seven triples in addition to 15 doubles, six home runs, 45 RBI, 43 runs scored and a .307 batting average.
Kalk is a junior studying social studies education who tallied 28 hits including four doubles, one triple and one homer for 11 RBI while scoring 23 runs as the team's primary catcher.
Kwasny is a junior sport administration major who went 2-1 with a 5.93 ERA and 42 strikeouts in 41.0 innings pitching mainly out of the Ball State bullpen in his third year with the Cardinals.
Quinn recently graduated with a sport administration major and management minor and concluded his collegiate career with an 11-3 record, 5.10 ERA and 117 strikeouts in 139.1 innings of work after going 5-0 on the mound in 2026. This is Quinn's second straight year receiving the Academic All-District honor.
