Men?s S&D Hosts Wisconsin-Milwaukee Friday Evening

The Ball State men's swimming & diving team opens its 2011-12 home schedule Friday at Lewellen Aquatic Center when it hosts Wisconsin-Milwaukee in a meet starting at 6 p.m.
Despite wins in five events, the Ball State men's swimming and diving team fell to Evansville, 158-130, at Roy and Mary Wyttenbach Pool Saturday afternoon.
Two different BSU swimmers collected a pair of individual event victories in seniors Gavin McNeeley (North Manchester, Ind./Manchester) in the 100 breast (59.27) and 200 breast (2:11.84) and Casey Schroeder (Williamsport, Ind./Seeger Memorial) in the 50 free (21.70) and 100 free (47.50).
McNeeley also swam the second leg of the first-place 200 medley relay which clocked in at 1:35.44, while Schroeder swam the anchor.
Junior Michael Weber (Lorain, Ohio/Elyria Catholic) took home a victory in the 100 back with a time of 52.46. He also swam the first leg of the 200 medley relay.
Sophomore Jake Brehmer (Valparaiso, Ind./Chesterton) rounded out the Cardinals' top finishers on the one-meter board (229.10).
Wisconsin-Milwaukee defeated both Wisconsin, 149-145, Friday, Oct. 7 and Grand Valley State, 155-88, Saturday, Oct. 15 for a perfect 2-0 record on the young season. The meet Friday marks the first time the Cardinals and the Panthers will meet, however both head coach Kyle Clements and assistant coach Brittany Sayler swam under the direction of head coaches Bob Thomas and Laura Seibold-Caudill at Ball State.
