Director of Basketball Operations Sydney Mitchell is in her fourth year with the Cardinals. She was a former forward at Eastern Illinois from 2009-13, where she played three seasons for Sallee.
Mitchell’s primary duties include coordinating team travel, assisting with academic progress, community outreach and marketing as well as other duties as assigned.
Mitchell finished her career at EIU 20th all-time in scoring (1,056), sixth in rebounding (697), 10th in free throws made (278) and in free throw attempts (391).
Prior to Mitchell’s arrival at Ball State, she worked for Amazon (2015), In-Home Care Taker (2014-15) and coached junior varsity basketball in Indianapolis.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and sports studies in May of 2013 from Eastern Illinois. While working on her master’s degree in kinesiology and sports studies, she was an intern for the EIU athletics strength and conditioning program. Mitchell also worked at the EIU assessment testing and prescription lab before earning her master’s degree in August of 2014.
Mitchell is from Indianapolis, Indiana.
