WBB Completes its 2025-26 Roster with Signing of Laura Martinez & Violeta Rojas

MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State head women's basketball coach Brady Sallee, who will be entering his 14th season at the helm of the Cardinals, has announced the completion of the programs' 2025-26 roster with the signing of Laura Martinez (Granada, Spain) and Violeta Rojas (Manilva, Spain).
Â
Martinez has spent her European career playing for the Granada Más Baloncesta, competing for a multitude of age categories each year. Martinez has been a member of the senior team (18 and over) since the age of 14. She has participated in three promotions in the LF2 national leagues. This past season, Martinez played in the LF2 national league. Martinez was selected to play for all the provincial teams of her province of Granada along with being chosen to compete with the Andalusian team where she won a bronze medal in the Spanish Championship.Â
Â
"Laura is the perfect, versatile guard in our system," Sallee said. "She is a playmaker and an elite shooter. She is always ready on every catch and hunts her opportunities. Her length will allow her to play in a lot of different places in our offense and will also make her a very effective defender. She has been playing at an elite level in Spain and will be ready to go from day 1. Laura is excited to be a part of our program, and we are pumped to be able to call her a Cardinal."
Â
Rojas comes to Ball State after playing for one year at Trinidad State. Rojas averaged 20.1 points per game while shooting over 47 percent from the floor for the Trojans. She appeared in 16 games with 14 starts while averaging 24 minutes per contest. Rojas scored 20+ points in four of her last six games including a 25-point performance versus Lamar Community College. Her career best came against Northeastern Junior College after dropping 31 points for the Trojans. She brings a total of 321 career points to the Cardinals' fast paced offense next season while also finishing her freshman year ranked seventh in scoring in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
Â
"V is three-level scorer'" said Sallee. "She has tremendous range, can get it to the rack and can play in the mid-range. But I think what makes her dangerous is her scoring mentality…she always puts pressure on the defense with her aggressiveness! She has a great size and plays as well off the ball as she does with it in her hands. We are excited to get V here and to see her flourish in our offensive system."
Â
Martinez and Rojas join their star-studded class of previous commits including, Alba Caballero (Ciudad Real, Spain), Bree Salenbien (Adrian, Mich./Lenawee Christian, Zhen Verburgt (Hemiskem, Belgium), Giorgia Gorini (Genova, Italy), Aniss Tagayi (Montpellier, Hérault, France), Karsyn Norman (Bedford, Ind./Bedford North Lawrence) and Brooke Winchester (Warsaw, Ind./Warsaw Community High School).
