MVB Earns 10th Consecutive Win at Home Versus Tusculum

MUNCIE, Ind. – The 10th-ranked Ball State men's volleyball team stamped its 10th-straight win inside Worthen Arena, overcoming Tusculum in four sets (20-25, 28-26, 25-17, 27-25).
After subbing into the match in the second set of play, sophomore opposite Ryan Louis recorded a match-high 19 kills on an efficient .621 hitting to help the Cardinals (14-2, 5-1 MIVA) complete the gentleman's sweep versus the visiting Pioneers (7-4, 0-1 SAC).
Ball State opted to mix up the lineup versus Tusculum as Daniel Günther, Marty Canavan, Nick Everett, Jason Harris and Dante Cayaban all made their first career starts with the Cardinals. Griffin Satterfield joined the lineup for the first time in 2026, earning the ninth start of his career.
Harris had a career night versus the Pioneers, totaling a career-high 15 kills along with five digs and two blocks. Everett made the most in his first appearance of the season, recording nine kills on a .467 clip with two blocks, two digs and an ace.
Satterfield guided the men's unit to hit .321 with a career-best 44 assists. The senior also added three digs along with a block and an ace.
Günther led at the net with four blocks, which accompanied his six kills tallied. Freshman Libero Adir Ben Shloosh was all over the floor on defense, leading both teams with seven digs, his third-best total of the year.
Tusculum got the better of the Cardinals in the opening set, hitting .467 compared to Ball State's .087 as a result of nine attack errors. At 19-19, a five-point swing brought the momentum in the Pioneers favor which the team rode to take the game.
Ball State flipped the script in the set that followed, evening the match after scoring three straight to end the extended set at 28-26. After convincingly taking the third set over the Pioneers, the visitors stayed competitive in set four which saw eight ties and three lead changes. With the game tied at 25, the Cardinals forced a Tusculum attack error which was followed by a match-winning kill from Louis. Louis tallied eight of his 19 kills in set four alone.
The Cardinals look to build off the victory tomorrow night as the team hosts in-state rival No. 20 Purdue Fort Wayne for Alumni Day at 7 p.m. ET. The match will be streamed on ESPN+ while tickets can be purchased here.
