January 24, 2026 | Men's Tennis
MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team earned a double-header sweep over Bellarmine (0-3) and IU East (4-7) Saturday afternoon at First Serve Muncie.
The Cardinals earned a come-from-behind 4-3 victory in the morning match against the Knights and then swept the Redwolves 7-0 in second competition of the day.
Against Bellarmine, the Cardinals played a tough doubles point against the Knights where the outcome could have went either way. Jacks Lancaster alongside Broc Fletcher were the lone doubles tandem to earn a doubles victory for Ball State defeating Bellarmine's No. 3 duo of Sebastian Baumann and Alexander English by a 6-2 decision.
Zack Kimelman secured the decisive point in a thrilling straight-set (6-4, 6-1) victory at No. 5 singles to complete the Ball State men's tennis team's 4-3 comeback win over Bellarmine. Kimelman had help from the top court in which Lancaster won in two frames along with Andrei Caragea at the No. 2 slot and Drew Hayward took his opponent down on court No. 3. Those three victories put Ball State in the position to take the match from the Knights.
In the afternoon slate, Ball State established an early lead by winning the doubles point, showcasing strong pairings across the courts. They carried this momentum into the singles competition, where every Ball State player won their match all in straight sets, to complete the 7-0 sweep.
The Ball State men's tennis team will try to extend its three-match win streak at Dayton next Saturday. The Cardinals and the Flyers first serve will be at 4 pm ET at the South Regency Tennis Center.
