Ball State Men's Golf is 1 of 30 Teams Nationally With At Least Five All-America Scholars
July 29, 2025 | Men's Golf
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State's men's golf team is one of just 30 teams nationally to have at least five student-athletes named as Cobalt Golf All-American Scholars, as announced today by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must participate in 50 of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore to qualify.
The Cardinals were paced by Kash Bellar, Ali Khan, Braxton Kuntz and Carter Smith, who were all named last spring as Academic All-MAC recipients in the Mid-American Conference. Sophomore Avery Mahoney, ineligible for Academic All-MAC criteria as a first-year transfer, was the fifth Ball State golfer to collect honors as a Cobalt Academic All-America Scholar.
Bellar, Khan and Kuntz have graduated from the Ball State program, but Smith and Mahoney both will lead the Cardinals into the 2025-26 campaign which begins Aug. 31.
