"It was a good week out in the desert," head coach Cameron Andry said. "This was a breakout performance for Sophie. It's not surprising to those of us who see her work every single day. Hard work doesn't always yield results right away, so it is especially satisfying to see her begin to cash in on the daily deposits she's been making all season. She was disciplined and poised all week."

She added a birdie on the next hole to briefly move to three-under on the day.
