
Men's S&D Places Third at Indiana Intercollegiates to Start 2025-26 Season

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The men's swimming and diving program earned a third place finish out of 10 teams at the Dan Ross Indiana Intercollegiates, earning 396.5 total points to open its 2025-26 campaign. Ball State finished behind IU Indy (500) and host Purdue (518).
The men earned a total of three event wins, including individual event wins from freshman George Patterson and senior Jacob Siewers. The Cardinals also had 15 podium finishes and 12 top five placements.
Patterson captured his first collegiate individual event win as he topped the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:38.99. Siewers captured his win in the 100 freestyle, touching the wall at 44.79, just 0.33 shy of his own personal best in the event.
Patterson and Siewers also teamed up alongside Benjamin Clarkston and AJ Friend to earn a victory in the 200 freestyle relay (1:21.90) to close the meet.
Junior transfer William Raches placed second in both the 50 freestyle (20.76) and 100 backstroke (49.62) in his first meet as a Cardinal, while
Aidan Biddle earned a third-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (54.66).
On the 3M board, Porter Brovont earned a podium finish, placing seventh (283.60).
The next stop for the men will be at UIC Oct. 24 with events beginning at 5 p.m. ET.
