
Men’s Tennis Suffers 4-0 Loss at Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team (3-2) suffered a 4-0 loss on the road to Indiana (3-2) Wednesday evening at the IU Tennis Center.
The Cardinals fell behind early in the match to the Hoosiers after dropping the doubles point. First off the court was the twosome of Vince Orlando and Nathaniel Webster who fell 6-1 to Michael Andre and Ilya Tiraspolsky. The deciding point came on court No. 3 as Drew Hayward alongside Eli Herran dropped a 6-3 decision to Luc Boulder and Facundo Yunis. Despite losing the doubles point, the No. 2 duo of Mason Tran and Parrish Simmons were up 4-2 over Sam Landau and Carson Haskins when play was suspended.
In singles, Ball State fell in straight sets on courts two, three and five which would give Indiana the victory. Broc Fletcher was up 7-6, 5-3 over Deacon Thomas on court No. 6. Eli Herran had split sets with Tiraspolsky at the No. 4 spot and Nathaniel Webster also had won a set over Landau on the top court before their respective matches were abandoned.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues non-conference play when it travels to Michigan State Friday for a 2 pm ET first serve in East Lansing.
