Ball State Men’s Tennis Trio Earns All-MAC Postseason Honors
April 22, 2026 | Men's Tennis
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference (MAC) announced its 2025–26 postseason awards Wednesday, with three members of the Ball State men's tennis program receiving top honors for their performances on and off the court.
Senior Jacks Lancaster was named to the All-MAC First Team, while standout newcomer Andrei Caragea secured All-MAC Second Team honors and was voted the MAC Freshman of the Year. Senior Broc Fletcher rounded out the accolades as the recipient of the prestigious Jack Vredevelt Sportsmanship Award.
Lancaster anchored the Cardinals at the premier position throughout the season. Known for his resilience, Lancaster consistently delivered in high-pressure moments, including a pivotal week in March where he secured back-to-back three-set victories against UIC and Northern Illinois. His ability to clinch deciding points against the league's elite earned him multiple MAC weekly honors and kept Ball State at the top of the conference standings.
Caragea made an immediate impact in his debut season, leading the team with a 16-11 singles record. Playing primarily at the No. 2 spot, he posted a 7-4 league mark and proved his mettle with a marathon three-set clinching win against Toledo. Most recently, Caragea was named to the All-MAC Tournament Team following a gritty three-set win over Buffalo's Onder Balci. His season was highlighted by dominant performances, including a 6-0, 6-2 sweep of Western Michigan.
Fletcher was recognized by the league's coaches with the Jack Vredevelt Sportsmanship Award. This annual honor is presented to a senior who displays exceptional character, integrity, and conduct on the court, marking Fletcher as a leader in sportsmanship within the conference.
The Cardinals' postseason recognition follows a season defined by competitive grit and top tier play across both veteran and freshman rotations.
