
Men’s Tennis Earns 7-0 Sweep Over EIU to Complete Two-Win Weekend

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team has started its spring season with a 2-0 record after earning a 7-0 sweep versus Eastern Illinois Saturday afternoon at the Northwest YMCA.
Although, it was a tightly contested doubles point, the Cardinals pulled through earning wins on courts two and three. The No. 2 slot saw Vince Orlando and Andrew Hayward record a 6-4 defeat against the Panthers' Pau Riera and Thomas Wallace. The first point of the match was then earned by the No. 3 twosome of Sajin Smith and Petar Petrovic after tallying a 7-5 win against Jon William Karlstad and Zachary White.
In singles, Ball State took all six courts from Eastern Illinois in straight sets. Jacks Lancaster was the first singles court off at the No. 3 spot after only dropping one game apiece each set winning the match, 6-1, 6-1. The domino effects on each court then continued to happen with Broc Fletcher earning match point on court No. 5 after defeating Karlstad, 6-1, 6-4.
The Ball State men's tennis team will be back in action midweek on Wednesday at Xavier for a 1 pm ET first serve at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club.
