Men's S&D Hosts IUPUI For Senior Day Friday

MUNCIE, Ind. - - The Ball State men's swimming & diving team returns to action Friday when it hosts IUPUI for Senior Day at the Lewellen Aquatic Center. The meet, which will run in conjunction with the women, will start at 5 p.m. with BSU's senior class being honored during the first break.

Seniors being honored on the day for the men are Alexander Eddy, Joey Garberick, Isaac Hunter, Bryan Lower and Zach Zishka.

Last season, the Cardinals tallied four event wins in a 190-110 setback to the Jaguars at the IUPUI Natatorium. Fifth-year senior Owen Chaye was involved in three of the wins, taking top honors in the 50 and 100 freestyles, while swimming anchor for the first-place 400 freestyle relay. Fifth-year senior Bryce Handshoe earn the other win, touching the wall first in the 200 butterfly.

IN THE MAC RANKINGS:
In the latest NCAA Division I Top Time Rankings as compiled by CollegeSwimming.com, the Cardinals have 12 student-athletes ranked in scoring position in their respective events after the first two meets of the season.

Three-time defending MAC 100 breaststroke champion Joey Garberick is Ball State's top-ranked swimmer, holding the second spot in the 200 breaststroke (2:04.28) and the third spot in the 100 breaststroke (55.04). Owen Chaye also owns the league's third-best 50 freestyle swim at 20.49.
