
Ball State set to host We Fly Challenge meet

Meet begins Friday with field events and wraps up Saturday with track events
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State track and field team is set to host the We Fly Challenge this weekend at the University Track at the Briner Sports Complex, April 15-16. The event is free and open to the public.
Friday will feature field events, beginning at 11 a.m. ET with the hammer throw and wrapping up with the javelin throw at 5 p.m. Saturday's running events start at 11 a.m. with the 3,000-meter steeplechase and concludes with the 4x400-meter relay.
In addition, Ball State will honor its eight seniors Saturday at 11:15 a.m. Taking part in the ceremony will be Maddie Aul, Payton Barlow, Kennedy Batts, Karleigh Conner, Emma Cunningham, Michelle Lehmann, MaQuila Norman and Karlie Zumbro.
Joining Ball State in competition includes Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Davenport, Purdue Fort Wayne, Illinois Track Club, Indianapolis and Marian. The Cardinals will also host men's teams from Central Michigan, Davenport, Illinois Track Club, Indianapolis, Marian and Purdue Fort Wayne.
Following the home meet, Ball State will head to Columbus, Ohio for the Jesse Owens Classic, April 22-23.
SAAC Food Collection
Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be collecting nonperishable food items (examples: soup, canned vegetables, canned fruit) on Saturday during the women's track and field meet, spring football, baseball and men's volleyball game. The track and field collection time will be 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Baseball collection time is 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Football collection time will be 30 minutes before the start and the box will be collected at the end of the game. Men's volleyball collection time is 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Fans are also welcome to make a donation on behalf of SAAC by using the link below to the QR code or go to www.curehunger.org to donate online. A donation of $1 = 4 meals for a family in need!
