Cardinals ready for GCU Invitational

Ball State part of 23-team field in Phoenix, Ariz.
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State men's golf team is set to compete in the GCU Invitational, March 14-15, hosted by Grand Canyon. The two-day event is slated to take place at the par-71 GCU Golf Course.
The Cardinals are part of a 23-team field that includes Abilene Christian, Cal Baptist, Cal State Fullerton, Columbia, Creighton, Drake, Eastern Michigan, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Hawai'i, Incarnate Word, Kansas City, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Omaha, Pacific, Sacramento State, Southern Miss, TCU, UT Arlington, UTRGV and Valparaiso.
Ball State's lineup features Kash Bellar, Ali Khan, Colin Nasser, Joey Ranieri and Joey Wiseman.
Monday's schedule has continuous play, beginning at 10:45 a.m. ET, with the goal of completing two full rounds. Tuesday will wrap up what is remaining in the three-round event. The Cardinals are paired with Cal State Fullerton and Drake for the opening two rounds and will tee off from the 16th, 17th and 18th holes in a shotgun start.
Ball State is coming off a third-place finish at the Dorado Beach Collegiate in its last tournament. The Cardinals shot 22-under (274-283-285--842) for the event and had three top-10 finishers in Bellar, Khan and Nasser. Bellar was named the Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week after tying for fifth at 7-under (69-73-67--209).
