Ball State rounds out play at GCU Invitational

Cardinals complete two-day event in Phoenix
PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Ball State men's golf team completed its three-round circuit of the GCU Invitational Tuesday afternoon. The Cardinals finished in a tie for 15th at 15-over (288-291-288--867).
Ball State finished just six strokes away from the top 10 in a 23-team field at the par-71 GCU Golf Course.
"We just weren't as sharp across the lineup as we needed to be this week," head coach Mike Fleck said. "Too many things each round led to us not being able to get over the hump and move up in a tightly-placed field."
Joey Wiseman led the way for the Cardinals and finished in a. tie for 40th at 2-over (70-75-70--215). The junior racked up. three birdies and 13 pars on his final card.
Joey Ranieri was just one shot back at 3-over (74-69-73--216) and tied for 46th. The senior had a pair of birdies and 12 pars Tuesday.
Kash Bellar tied for 54th at 4-over (69-74-74--217). The freshman picked up two birdies on the back nine to highlight his final round.
Ali Khan (75-73-71--219) and Colin Nasser (76-75-74--225) completed the lineup at 6-over and 12-over, respectively.
Ball State returns to action April 1-3 for the Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tenn.
