Women’s Tennis Heads to Dayton Friday; Hosts Youngstown State Sunday

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team will play two matches this week starting with a noon first serve at Dayton Friday. The Cardinals will then return home Sunday against Youngstown State at the Northwest YMCA Tennis Center. That match is set to begin at 1:30 p.m. ET.
The Cardinals enter the weekend with a 4-2 overall ledger while the Flyers are 5-4 and the Penguins own a 4-4 mark.
Ball State is 7-3 against Dayton taking the most recent match on January 21, 2019. The Flyers fell 7-0 in Muncie, but UD won the last match in Dayton against the Cardinals 4-3 back in 2018.
The Cardinals have won three of the last four matches over Youngstown State including last season when Ball State won a doubleheader over the Penguins in Youngstown, Ohio by a score of 4-1 and 4-0 on Feb. 20, 2021.
Leading Ball State in dual action is Mariya Polishchuk with a 5-0 mark. Polishchuk is 1-0 on court two and 4-0 at the No. 3 position.
In doubles, Hannah Davies and Amy Kaplan are 4-1 with a 1-0 mark at the No. 2 spot and a 4-0 mark at position No. 3.
After this weekend, Ball State will host Cleveland State at noon on March 5 before heading to California for spring break March 7-9.
