Men’s Tennis Starts the Week Off With a 4-2 Road Win At Butler

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team (4-2) continues to thrive on the road with yet another win, this time the Cardinals posted a 4-2 victory at Butler (3-5) Wednesday afternoon at the Butler Bubble.
The Cardinals took the momentum early in the match, earning victories on courts two and three to take the doubles point from Butler.
At No. 2 doubles, Thibault de Negri and Eli Herran exited the courts first after defeating Michael Dickson and Borja Miralles, 6-3. Vince Orlando and Parrish Simmons would secure the doubles point after beating Patrick Joss and Zach Trimpe, 6-2 at the No. 3 slot.
In singles, Butler went up 2-1 after Dickson and Thomas Brenan took wins on courts four and one from the Cardinals. Ball State would then rally back at positions two and three to go back up 3-2.
Orlando would be the deciding factor for Ball State today as he won his match at the No. 5 spot in a three-set thriller. Orlando took frame one from the Bulldogs Joss 6-3 before dropping the second set 1-6. Orland then fought his way back in the third to win the set 6-4 and clinch the win for the Cardinals.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues its five-match road swing when it travels to Xavier Friday for a 1 p.m. ET first serve at the Eastern Hills Racket Club in Cincinnati, Ohio.
