Ball State Hosts DePauw for Exhibition on Saturday
October 28, 2022 | Men's Basketball
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State men's basketball team hosts DePauw in an exhibition game on Saturday inside Worthen Arena. The Cardinals and Tigers are scheduled for a 2 p.m. tip.
Cardinal Nation will get their first view of the 2022-23 BSU squad in a game setting. There is plenty of excitement around this year's team and earlier this week Payton Sparks was named to the Preseason All-MAC First Team. Sparks is the reigning MAC Freshman of the Year. The Cardinals also bring back Jaylin Sellers from the MAC All-Freshman Team, Luke Bumbalough, Ben Hendriks, Demarius Jacobs, Basheer Jihad, Mickey Pearson Jr., and Jalen Windham. BSU brought back former MAC Freshman of the Year Jarron Coleman after a season at Missouri. Quincy Adams, Micah Bell, Kaiyem Cleary, Jack Futa, and Darian Owens-White are the newcomers.
Saturday will be the annual "Chirp or Treat" with doors opening and activities beginning at 1 p.m. This event is coordinated by the Ball State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and young ghouls and goblins – along with adults - are encouraged to attend in costume and partake in traditional trick-or-treat candy stations, Halloween-themed activities, and more while mingling with Ball State student-athletes from several sports. (Please note Halloween masks are not permitted for individuals 18+).
The Cardinals are scheduled to begin the regular season on Monday, November 7, inside Worthen Arena against Earlham with the jump scheduled for 7 p.m.
