BSU women’s golf finishes seventh at season opening event in Florida
LAKEWOOD RANCH, FLA. -- Hadley Moritz polished off a top-10 finish with her best career 54-hole score and freshman Kiah Parrott led the Ball State women's golf team in Tuesday's final round at the Mid-American Challenge.
Â
Moritz, who opened Monday with consecutive under-par rounds of 71 and 70, closed with a 74 at Lakewood Ranch Country Club. At 1 under par for the tournament, her total score of 215 was five shots better than her previous career best. The junior from Wheaton, Illinois, tied for sixth place for her fifth career top-10.
Â
Parrott's 72 in the final round was the best of any BSU player. The freshman from Kokomo, Indiana, played her last 36 holes in 1 over par to climb into a tie for 28th on the final leaderboard in her collegiate debut.
Â
Liz Kim and Morgan Lewis provided Ball State's other counting scores Tuesday with a 75 and 76, respectively, in the Cardinals' closing round of 297. Kim finished one shot back of Parrott to tie for 31st place.
